Free Build Challenge Extended! Plus, Learn About the 3D Printing Process…

Jun 3, 2012 05:48 PM

The first item of business is that our very own William Finucane of Mad Science has written an article explaining exactly how the 3D printing process works, which may help some of you to better conceptualize how your builds will come to life in the 3D world!

You can find his article here, and I highly recommend it!

Secondly, our free build challenge with the 3D-printed prize is being extended for an extra week due to the extensive downtime of the Mojang servers, as well as our own.

Check out some of our current builds for the contest:

Aerial view of a Minecraft landscape featuring trees, buildings, and a creeper character.
Minecraft landscape featuring lava flows and structures.
A Minecraft scene featuring a player character and Enderman figures in a sandbox environment.
A LEGO model of a space shuttle in a colorful outer space scene.

This will give you time to make some even more amazing things, and I'm looking forward to some really spectacular entries!

The new end date for this challenge is Sunday, June 10th!

The next big software update for iPhone is coming sometime in April and will include a Food section in Apple News+, an easy-to-miss new Ambient Music app, Priority Notifications thanks to Apple Intelligence, and updates to apps like Mail, Photos, Podcasts, and Safari. See what else is coming to your iPhone with the iOS 18.4 update.
